Automotive Social Club

A New Type of Car Social Space

Our definition of the project is "a social experiment for car enthusiasts". From architectural design to interior design, we hope it can become a new type of car social space with multiple functions. It can not only meet the basic cleaning and maintenance functions of traditional cars but also become a display space for restaurants, party venues, and brand events. I hope it can lead to the change of other car-related spaces and make people pay more attention to relevant car brands.

This is a new architectural design and interior design project called the Automotive Social Club. Designed by Teng Guo and Yan Jiao, the club aims to create a unique space for car enthusiasts to come together and engage in various activities. The project is located in the triangle between two train tracks, making it a distinctive and eye-catching structure.

The building is L-shaped and consists of two large buildings. In terms of architectural design, the club features large triangular eaves on the first floor, providing both function and lighting. The second floor is characterized by 6-meter-long windows and doors, creating a sequence of light. The facade of the building is made of red and black pressed steel plates, reflecting the brand's positioning.

In the interior design, the club features a visually striking element called the "big steps". These steps serve as the focal point of the public area, breaking the boundaries of the layers and connecting different indoor functions. The steps also divide the space into distinct partitions, creating a sense of openness and flow.

The club offers a range of functions and spaces to cater to the needs of car enthusiasts. The single-story building houses a repair shop, cleaning workshop, and beauty workshop. The two-story building is divided into internal and external functional areas. The first floor features a bar, sale, display, and leisure areas on the exterior, while the interior houses offices, kitchens, storage, and bathrooms. The second floor is dedicated to an indoor dining area, negotiation area, and outdoor terrace.

The Automotive Social Club was designed in May 2018 and construction began in July 2018. It was completed in January 2019. Since its completion, the club has become a popular destination for car enthusiasts, hosting various events and activities. It has successfully fulfilled its original purpose of creating a new car-related space that goes beyond traditional functions.

The design of the Automotive Social Club has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2020. This award acknowledges the club's outstanding and creatively ingenious design, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The club showcases strong technical and creative skills and contributes to improvements in the quality of life, making it a better place for car enthusiasts.
